Con el fin de establecer la mejor lectura en versículos que presentan
variantes textuales (esto es, diferentes lecturas en los manuscritos griegos; compárese, por ejemplo, Apoc. 22:14 en la Reina-Valera
1960 con la Reina-Valera 1909), presentamos un ejercicio, tomando ese versículo precisamente, en que se traerán comparados
los textos griegos de las dos principales tradiciones o escuelas: la edición crítica moderna y el llamado “Textus Receptus”
(se incluye el “Texto Mayoritario”), junto con el análisis morfológico –traído en códigos– de
los textos de ambas escuelas.
Le sigue luego la presentación de una larga lista de diversas traducciones en lenguas modernas
—español, catalán, portugués, inglés, italiano, francés, alemán, también hebreo y griego modernos— traducciones que se basarán en una de las dos escuelas de manuscritos griegos. Se incluye la
antigua Peshitta (siríaca) junto con su traducción al inglés y una caracterización en letras hebreas, y también la Vulgata
latina.
El ejercicio consiste en identificar la “escuela o tradición” de manuscritos griegos que tomó el moderno
traductor para verter el pasaje bíblico. Con color azul se identificarán aquellos manuscritos que las ediciones críticas y
las traducciones modernas reconocen como más antiguos. Con color rojo, aquellas ediciones y traducciones que siguen los manuscritos
tardíos de la tradición del “Textus Receptus” (“texto recibido”). En cuanto a definir cuál
es la mejor lectura de Apocalipsis 22:14, dejamos que el lector lo decida. Por supuesto, en nuestro curso indicamos la naturaleza
de las diferencias habidas en los textos griegos y cuáles versiones modernas se recomiendan.
Para traducir el contenido de algunas lenguas extranjeras –inglés, italiano, portugués,
francés, alemán– a nuestro español o, en su defecto, entender esas lenguas en el popular inglés se pueden utilizar
las herramientas del idioma que traen algunos portales de internet (como Google, Yahoo).
